Under the CIS Code investment guidelines applied to a retail structured ILP sub-fund, exposure to a single entity is generally capped at 10% of the fund's NAV. This cap is tightened to 5% when:
The single-entity exposure limit is 10% of NAV, but it is reduced to 5% for unrated and non-investment-grade corporate debt securities. (It is instead raised to 35% where the entity or issue is guaranteed by a government, government agency or supranational with a minimum credit rating.)
A government/supranational guarantee raises the limit to 35% — it is unrated/non-investment-grade debt that pulls it down to 5%.
