Why might a dealing account within a portfolio bond incur debit interest?
A dealing account is set up because fund units are securities and transacting in them is dealing in securities. Such an account can hold a negative balance, for example when charges are applied, and debit interest then accrues.
Debit interest arises from a negative dealing-account balance, not from a tax or the death benefit.
