A member wants to use MediSave to pay the premiums for his Integrated Shield Plan (IP). Which statement is correct?
An IP has two parts: the MediShield Life component (fully payable from MediSave) and the additional private coverage, whose premium is payable from MediSave only up to the AWL (S$300/S$600/S$900 by age), with the remainder in cash. Each insured person can have only one IP paid with MediSave.
The private component is capped by the AWL and often requires cash top-up at older ages — it is not always fully MediSave-payable, and only one IP per person may be MediSave-funded.
