When shares are held through a broker or custodian as NOMINEE, what is the investor's position?
Under a nominee arrangement the intermediary holds the shares in its own name on the investor's behalf, so the investor is the beneficial owner and depends on the nominee to relay dividends, voting notices and corporate-action instructions.
