Capacity measures how much loss a client can financially withstand given their resources and needs; tolerance is their emotional comfort with risk. Suitable advice must respect BOTH, using the more constraining of the two.
Capacity (ability) and tolerance (willingness) are distinct; a client may be willing but unable to bear losses, or vice versa.
